The CWS / AMEF Ray McLeod Scholarship is intended for undergraduate students who are entering year 2, 3, or 4 as a music major at an accredited Alberta university. The $500 scholarship, in memory of long-time Calgary Concert Band conductor, Ray McLeod, is specifically intended for musicians who play brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, the instruments of the wind band. Applications from any music genre; ex. classical, jazz, folk, rock, etc., are welcome. This scholarship will be administered by the Alberta Music Education Foundation and funded by the Calgary Wind Symphony.

Application Requirements
- Completed application form
- Applicants should make a video recording of a maximum 10 minutes in length, consisting of two contrasting selections/excerpts. The video should be posted to YouTube, with the privacy setting set to Unlisted. In the Notes section of the YouTube video, please include your full name, your instrument, and the title and composer of the pieces featured in your video recording. There will be a place to include the link to your video in the application form.

- Letter of recommendation from a faculty member/applied teacher at the university must be emailed to info@amef.ca or uploaded with the online form below.
The deadline for applications is September 20, 2024
Applications will be assessed by a committee, with a decision announced within 2-3 weeks of the deadline.
